The Global Assamese Conference 2026 (CAG 26) begins today at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, marking the start of three inspiring days of dialogue, reflection, celebration, and connection.

Delegates from across Assam and the global Assamese diaspora come together for thought-provoking discussions, cultural performances, and meaningful networking, centred on Assam’s past, present, and shared future. Whether you are a professional, academic, cultural practitioner, student, or simply someone invested in Assam’s development and global engagement, CAG 26 offers a space for participation, exchange, and collective imagination.

We are pleased to share that the Community Recognition Award is being re-configured and strengthened to further enhance its prestige, rigour, and authenticity. The revised framework, including its guiding principles and selection process, is formally outlined in the Conference Souvenir, Biswar Chhonde Chhonde. The Award is dedicated to recognising exceptional contributions by members of the Assamese diaspora, and seeks to honour a true galaxy of our stars, as assessed by an independent Jury.
