The Conference Committee – GAC 2026

Date: 18 October 2025
Time: 05:00 – 06:00 PM (IST)
Platform: Microsoft Teams
Subject: Formalisation of the Conference Committee – GAC 2026

A meeting was convened on 18 October 2025 via Microsoft Teams to discuss and finalise the formal Conference Committee structure for the Global Assamese Conference (GAC) 2026, to be held from 16–18 January 2026 at IIT Guwahati. The initiative, which began as an informal collaboration earlier this year, has now evolved into a structured global movement shaped by contributors from Assam, India, and the worldwide Assamese diaspora.

The collective efforts over the past months highlighted the need for formal governance, clarity of roles, and organisational discipline to take the conference forward responsibly and efficiently.
